    Salisbury BBQ Festival

    Hey All-y'all, Just wanted to post this advertisement for the Salisbury BBQ Festival to be held on Saturday, May 15th in Spencer, NC.  This will be the first competition for me to judge!  I haven't taken the time yet to post my experience at the Kansas City Barbeque Society "Certified Barbeque Judge" training that I completed a week ago, as I've been kinda busy, but I'll get it posted soon.  Anyway, here is their ad:

               this makes for a great day!.
    Take in the Antique Truck Show, the Artists & Mural Painting, then lunch on the best BBQ anywhere.  Sample all the Competitors and Cast your vote for Number One! 
    Watch the Living Statue move so slow it looks like it’s standing still..  Try the Cheerwine Truffles..... and those BBQ Cookies are to die for!! 
    Visit the Art Gallery, the Country Store and the Kid’s Book Store…..or
     lounge around listening to the Band 23-19.
    Just a great Fun Day

    Salisbury Steak wasn’t invented in Salisbury?
                 A Dr. J.H. Salisbury of Scott, Ny created it in the 1870’s
                 to cure dysentery  in the Union Army.
                  
    Salisbury Bar-B-Que was first sold  in 1918
                 by John Blackwelder two years before Lexington got started!
     
    Salisbury Bar-B-Que cooking teachniques
                 are based on those developed by the American Indians
                 over 10,000 years time. The early Settlers just brought the

    Salisbury BBQ Cookie was created here and is being introduced in 2010 as the Festival Signature Cookie!  They are addictively GOOD!
